An absolute beauty.  18th Century figure after van Nost, of what I think is probably Young Ares - God of War.  There are no specific marks on this to determine exactly who the maker was however there were several top artists at that time working in lead.  This is finely cast and hand finished.  It has a slight flattening to one cheek and ear but otherwise in great conditon.  It has probably had the square base added later as I would expect it to be set straight into stone.  The sword is a gem - with a thread into the open hand.  We have it set on a tall granite pillar.  This would be fantastic in a flower bed or long grass meadow.
